it all started when i went to asocial club...
the story of how a girl who moved to a new country knowing no one ended up building the tools her favorite hosts needed.
the making friends part
i'matzin & wanted to belong
so picture this... a mexican girl moves to madrid and doesn't know a single soul & does it again in london, 'cause that's just what being a software engineer looks like sometimes, but no one warns you your friends countdown starts back at 0...
so i did what you do when you're trying to find your people: showed up to everything, run clubs, supper clubs, founder meetups, anything with humans in a room...
but the people i loved talking to most were the hosts, and the mess they were dealing with trying to find the right tools to handle all the chaos of building a social club & as an engineer, i had to do something about it...
the take action part
so i built Brindie
for all the beautiful people behind our fave social clubs, the ones who work so hard so the rest of us could finally belong somewhere.
the vision part
what i believe, while building it
three things i noticed before i ever wrote a line of code.
communities don't die from lack of love
they die 'cause no one gave them the tools to last, that's the thing i can't stop thinking about every time i build something new.
your community is not a platform's to hold hostage
no algorithm, no app waking up one day and changing the rules on you, your people are yours, it should feel that way, always.
building this is kind of like caring for someone
every feature comes from an actual conversation with a host, if it helps you, i love it, if it doesn't, i'm fixing it.
